Policy on the Use of Motorised Buggies

ELLGA POLICY ON THE USE OF MOTORISED BUGGIES

a) Players who need to use a motorised buggy or stand on buggy (hired or personal), in all cases, must inform the Honorary Secretary of ELLGA to ensure permission is obtained from the Executive Committee. For the WHS competitions held in June. They must have their own insurance if the motorised buggy/stand on belongs to them personally.

b) A current medical certificate of disability/condition must be presented in order to play with the use of a buggy/stand on in the Scratch Shield and Worsley and the Handicap Shield and Annie Chambers competitions. Via email to ellga.sec@hotmail.com

c) The medical certificate must be within a 3 year period as in line with Lancashire county golf.

d) FAILURE TO DO THIS WILL RESULT IN THE DISQUALIFICATION OF THE ROUND.

e) Persons over the age of 80 and require a buggy to enable them to continue to play golf may do so. In the Scratch and Handicap competitons. Proof of age on the day be shown to the competition desk. You also must inform the secretary at the latest 3 days before play.

f) The buggy may only be used by the person named on the certificate and may carry the player, her caddie and equipment.

g) A medical certificate will not be required for the use of buggies in the Summer and Autumn Team competitions

h) The onus is on each player to check that the host club permits the use of buggies and, if required, sign a disclaimer

i) Use of the buggy/stand on will be at the player’s own risk.

j) The player will need to have personal insurance cover in place.
